A 3 Day Tribute To Pioneer Doo-Wop / R&B Artists

DOO-WOP IN D.C. - A Reunion Tribute to the Pioneers of Rhythm & Blues and Doo-Wop -

June 24 - June 26, 2004

Presented by the Office of the Director of the Howard University Blackburn Center at Howard University, Washington, D.C., in collaboration with The Atlanta Doo-Wop Association

Special acknowledgment and thanks go out to Eugene Tompkins, Arthur Crier, Beverly Lindsay-Johnson, Clyde Frazier Sr., Lawrence Berry, & Roberta McLeod for all their hard work in putting together this very successful, monumental project and event.

Congratulations to all the wonderful performers who sang their hearts out at the main event: Exhilirations, Velons, Clickettes, Continentals, Magics/Precisions, Jay Johnson's Diablos with Gino Parks & Jim Dunn, Lorraine Anthonia Lofaso of the Socialites, Mellows featuring Lillian Leach, Bill Lindsay, Baby Washington, Eddie Rich & his Swallows, Five Discs, Diz Russel's Legendary Orioles, Darlettes, Buddy McRae's Chords, and special performance by Roy Hamilton, Jr. in tribute to his father, the late, great Roy Hamilton!
